A Note On THE KARKAROV FAMILY:

I changed the note at the bigginning of the novel because women were anable to buy land back then.  The only way a woman would be able to own land was if she inheirited it, like in JANE EYRE.

I've decided they have inheirited it from "George Amber, Esq.'s"

eccentric wife.
