Priesthood Incampment

Yesterday I went to the priesthood incampent up at the Ashton's

Ranch. The whole place is so breathtaking you just can't get over

it! There is a big pond with a large hill nearby it. There is a

big play set for children, but we all found that we were inhabiting

it. There were swings and trees, everything for the mind to feast

upon.

The barn is more like the shell of a barn but with a homey inside.

It is orginized and there are all sorts of anitiques to an old

water pump to a breathtaking colection of amazing old jewlery. How

could designers givin up the very thing they try to put in

accesories? Beauty. Oh please don't get me wrong. Some of our

jewlery is pretty also, but once I saw a necklace with a mold of a

gun for the pendent.

*Sigh*

The Worldly Things.

Anyway back to the subject...

That night after a dinner of "Clondike Chilly" Brad Wilcox came

and spoke to us. He was amazing. Funny and wise in his teachings.

After that we had Rootbear Floats, played on the hill in the dark

and went back to our campsite. Each one of our campsites for

different wards had a little sign sticking out from the ground that

had one of the first General Authorities of this Dispensation's

names on them.

Our bishop told us a story of Orson Hyde. It was really cold out

side but we bore our testimonies.

It was a really spiritual expeience for me and for others.

We went to bed at Eleven.

* * *

We awoke to the call of a trumpet.

We all straggled along for the flag cerimony and after that had a

breakfast of eggs and sausege. Yum. The sausege was a little hard

and cold, but it was down-able.
We had two more speakers, one of them was our stake presedent, then we had a few activities. First we acted out a story from the
Scriptures. My group's was David And Goliath. Next we went to the
other side of the barn and were paired up with partners. We had
to invent a Hog Call that we were both sound. We were blindfolded
and put in different lines of people. They led us around for what
seemed like hours and let us loose from our lines, which was a
relief because the person behind we was hanging me with my collor
of my shirt, and I was strangling the person in front of me. All
by accident.
When we were freed a thunder of Hog Calls erupted.
After a long period of time me and my partner finally found each
other.
My partner was a great guy and was happy about our call in the
form of a wolf's howl.
After that we went into the barn and wrote down our goals for our Duty To God books. THEN IT WAS LUNCH.
As I sat eating my Hot Dog outside some of us were called to help the men put up the tarp for the GIANT WATER SLIDE we were going to be doing as an activity. In about ten minutes it was ready for use! It was Heaven on this tool of recreation. Some people could reach the grass at the bottom of the slide but I couldn't.
Oh well...........
Then the side got a rip on it and we had to stop.
After a desert of Popsicles we went home. It was a very uplifting and spiritual experience for all of us.
